bad horsie phase

    towards the end of Vai's bad horsie he gets a monsterous phase effect, Im guessing its more then the 80 dollar pedals you buy, or is it? anyone know how to get that big sound?

    If you post a short clip I can probably give you an idea. I doubt I have the album its on because I dont have much Vai.

    It's probably coming from a $1000+ rack unit. He may also have added it after the fact (that is, not while he was playing it, but in the editing phase).

    I think the point is that AP would like to recreate the sound as closely as possible, which unless its really insane, is probably possible with "regular" equipment.

    Like I said, if I can hear it, I can probably give you an idea how to get the sound.

    And I doubt it was recorded on protools, isnt that song pretty old?
