I think the only thing I don't really like about season 3 is what they did with Tobias. However, watching him try to imitate Gob is fantastic. "Michaaaaeeellllllll." "...That's a woman's wig." "I was told it was a Bob."
I think that's my biggest problem with season 3 actually, haha. Tobias became a falmer as opposed to an obviously gay man in denial.
i like this show alot but occasionally the "subtle humor" isn't actually subtle. A lot of times the main point of a scene or exchange is the subtle joke more so than plot progression.
Haha just watched Bringing up Buster last night ... great ep. "I'm Mom and I want to shoot down everything you say so I can feel good about myself. 'Cause I'm an uptight BEEEP BEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEEEEEP. You old horny slut! ... Well, no one's gonna top that." The scene with Michael and George Sr. in the prison is great too. George Sr.: [regarding Buster] Maybe it was the eleven months he spent in the womb. The doctor said there were claw marks on the walls of her uterus. But he was her ‘miracle baby'. And I-I was just too burnt out on raising you guys to care. So ... he turned out a little soft, you know ...a little doughy.. I dunno. Maybe it was my fault. Maybe. Maybe I just ignored the guy. [the camera slow zooms out to show Buster sitting between Michael and George Sr.] Buster: [After yawning for a long time] Wow. We're just blowing through nap time, aren't we?
"Here he comes. Here comes John Wayne, I'm not gonna cry about my pa! Im gonna build an airport... put my name on it! Why, Michael? So you can fly away from your feelings? You can keep 'em bottled up but they will come out, Michael. Sometimes in the most unexpected- hey... where the FUCK are my HARD-BOILED EGGS?!" *sad Charlie Brown music*
Hadn't watched much AD in the last 6 months or so but we put on a few eps of Season 3 last night. I think it was Surrogate and the two after that. I find new things to laugh at in this show all the time, I love it.
Just watched all 3 seasons last week during my vacation... What a wickedly smart, funny show. Pity it didn't last, but I guess it's better that it didn't meander on forever like the Simpsons and lose it's punch.
Watching episode one again. God, this show is fucking awesome. Going to watch all of season 1 and 2 this week. Will not watch season 3 again.
Don't like what they did to to Tobias and Gob. Or should I say, Gobias. As in: Go buy us some coffee. "You just made a fool out of yourself in front of T-Bone"
"Lemme ask you something: Is this a business decision or is it personal? Cause if it's business... I'll go away happily. But if it's personal.. I'll go away... but I won't be happy." "It's personal"
Feature film on the way per Jeffrey Tambor. http://weblogs.redeyechicago.com/showpatrol/2008/11/arrested-develo.html
Everyone keeps talking about but I've yet to hear any information about them beginning production on it. It has an IMDB page now, which is good, and The Powers That Be plus most of the cast keep saying that it's going to happen, but there's no real concrete info so far. I am very hopeful though!
this is one of those things that I'm not going to fully believe until there is an official announcement, or maybe not even until it is actually in theaters.
That was from September A lot can happen in 2 months. Back then, even Jeffery Tambor et. al. were saying it wasn't 100% certain, just likely. Now we have multiple cast members saying it's guaranteed.
I just don't buy anything they say because the first announcement was started because Jason Bateman was saying shit that wasn't even true.
Its totally gonna happen. Everyone has stated that they're on board. Cera never said he didn't want to participate in an AD movie, he just said that if he were a fan, he wouldn't want it.
In the movie there should be a more slicked up and produced version of "Scandalmakers" that has famous people playing their parts. It could even be a Scandalmakers motion picture featuring the Bluth story.
Yeah. I'm hopeful that if they do make an AD movie it will be a documentary style thing about the Bluths making the movie about the Bluths we see Maeybe trying to sell at the end of season 3. Then you have lots of hilarity as famous actors pretend to be Gob, George-Michael etc. But that would only really work as a movie for die-hard fans. No one else would understand it.
They could just use it as a side story that is running concurrently with the main plot of the movie. Like randomly intersperse parts of it. Perhaps showing the "actors" interpreting infamous Bluth happenings.
That would be too smart for the theater-going audiences. I think they'd probably compromise with the studio and do an "x goes on an adventure" kind of thing.
I'm thinking also, they could just have cuts to like different people trying out for the parts (and screwing up, or getting pissed off, etc.). There aren't any obvious funny choices that immediately come to mind, but I think there's potential. As for the main storyline, I think there's also a lot of ways they could go with it. I just hope they don't fuck it up.
Show's supposed to be terrible. Entertainment Weekly and reviewers of other sites out there who absolutely adore Arrested Development had pretty much nothing good about this show to say at all.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ks3W35SggA"]YouTube - Sit Down, Shut Up - Character Introductions![/ame] Yeah... looks kinda bad actually
yeah, it was not good. at all. couple decent gags at most. it'll disappear quickly and be mourned by no one.
Uhhhhh....if they just dropped that fucking stupid catchphrase thing it would automatically be.....better. Kind of.
