Yeah picked up my copy this morning been gaming for like 3 ish hours, taking a well deserved snack break. It's fucking good. The open world aspect even though its not MASSIVE, is really awesome. & I like all the side quests they are actually interesting & very unique adding in ton of other villains. Also Fuck yeah quick grapple speed, you can fly from building to building & launch around so fast, it's awesome. Oh @ CatsMilk, I will probably have to read those comics because yes as you said the game doesn't really explain how this section of the city was cut off etc.
You can buy/read them here: https://read.dccomics.com/comixology/#/series/5871 There's also 7 digital exclusive comics here: https://read.dccomics.com/comixology/#/series/6512 Goddamn this game is awesome though.
so jealous of all you amerifucks I'll have to wait fot at least sunday, if not next week to play this.
Beat the story (SUPER SICK) Working on doing all the side quests now probably 40% done them. Awesome game, really enjoyed / am enjoying & I recommend it to all batman fans.
Just beat it, but I kinda just did the main story. Only got 32% on PSN. Really fun game, and I prolly replay it after I play my other PS3 games. What was Joker singing in the credits? I walked away when he started singing on the phone.
The campaign in this game took me way less time than Arkham Asylum. The side-missions are pretty fun though. The Augmented Reality things are next to impossible thanks to the horrible flight controls of Batman.
speaking of the AR stuff - how can you regain altitude when you're taking a huge dive down? Simply slamming the control stick in the opposite direction doesn't seem to do the trick.
There was like one difficult one. I can't see how the flight controls could be better. They seem pretty spot on to me.
When you release the dive you kinda level off, or you can swoop back up and regain some height by pulling back on the joystick. It's pretty fucking simple, lol.
lol, got it. I didn't know you were supposed to use the dive bomb holding R2 down. Those further AR challenges ARE pretty enervating though. And this game continues to blow my balls off. I'm getting the hang of the controls slowly but especially in combat there are so many options now. A gaming noob would give up after the first half hour.
Yeah takes awhile to start getting good at building combo's in the combat, as well as using certain gadgets during opportune moments in combat.
Just finished the PC version. Too bad about the DX11 bugs, but it was still an amazing experience. I loved some of the high res textures and the physics stuff. Some screenshots of the Catwoman segments:
Dem tits. I finished the main story today and probably over half of the side quests now, plus all the catwoman missions I think. I haven't tried any challenges yet. Goddamn there are so many joker trophies. I kind of want to get them all because I have already collected so many, but a part of me really can't be bothered and wants to trade the game in. All in all, it's great game. It feels massive compared to the first. Hilarious!
Did they get rid of the time-button-press-with-hit-to-increase-multiplier mechanic in this? I miss it. This seems too easy.
It only seems easier because you have played Arkham Asylum already. This is the harder game in comparison and I think the combat is really fun. Sure, once you find something that works for you then it's much easier. For instance, I would rarely use counter, instead I would also just jump and go nuts which seemed much more effective against large groups. Once the harder enemies come in to mix things up (armour vests, shields, stun guns, knives, guns) it becomes even more fun. It is pretty damn satisfying going up against a group of enemies with guns and quickly taking them down. For now I gave up finding all the riddler trophies, but I did find quite a lot. If my brother buys this game I will probably borrow his copy, play the New game plus mode and get the rest of the trophies. I was a bit disappointed that I only got £16 for this game when I traded it in!
I feel like I can be almost half a second off and it would still continue adding to the multiplier. In Arkham Asylum, it wouldnt do it unless I was dead on.
Half a second?! ALERT THE MEDIA! Seriously though, you're wrong. You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
I felt like keeping combos flowing was a bit easier too. I don't find that to be a negative though. Less annoying moments on batman randomly fighting the air and loosing your streak. Still happens but not near as much.
Compare the timing in this game to other games that require timing (fighting, music, etc). Half a second is a relatively large interval. It was definitely a lot less in Arkham Asylum
