Gingerbread is getting released to the Nexus One phones soon, I hope Evo is next!
Angry Birds takes up 30% of my battery. Another 30% for my screen. That leaves 40% for gtalk.
I wish Android had a Netflix app for viewing. Fuck. Jealous of iPhone owners.
I beat angry bird
did you beat the golden eggs? i still have a few to find and i have no idea where they are, i'm just trying to up all the ratings to 3 stars.
trying to install 2.1 on my Cliq XT, and it's not detecting any updates... ugh
I'm gonna install froyo on my iPhone, you guys mad?
I'm mad, bro.
It's also funny how this will only work with older iPhones.
Apparently while its possible to do, you don't get any actual functionality out of it. Saying that though I'd probably have done it if I still had my iPhone
It looks like today is the rumored day for the Gingerbread launch, we'll see if that pans out.
Pretty sure I read something to that effect on Engadget. Ill try find the link later.
Okay, maybe not "no functionality", but there are some problems worth noting:
Oh and triple fucking post because here's the Google Nexus S:
Interesting that they've chosen Samsung to build the successor to the Nexus One, which was a HTC build.
I'm also hearing some talk about Gingerbread being pushed to the Nexus One soon, if not today. As an unbranded HTC Desire owner, that's pretty awesome news as they're virtually the same phone - shouldn't be long before we see it released on that device
today was the rumored day, alas no word yet, the nexus on that pic is running gingerbread and made a brief appearance on best buy website featuring it. i guess google wasn't ready for the launch and best buy dropped the ball. maybe they are waiting for monday.
new samsung with gingerbread, looks nice.
holy shit that looks amazing
Well...I'm kinda of sick of waiting for the Froyo update on the Vibrant. I've been reading on various forums that it wont get it. Which is making me rage at Samsung because its my second Samsung android phone that has not kept up with the Android market.
Anyways I'm going to attempt to root my phone and hopefully it works. I just don't know where to start.
Also after this phone I don't think I am going to get another Samsung phone. EVER.
i can't even get to the recovery menu
god fucking damn it
If you actually did want to root your phone, I have a few links that'll walk you through the process. Let me know if you want them.
Send them over plz
Here's the Wiki for CyanogenMod, which is the most popular one out there at the moment. It'll guide you through what you need to do:
However before doing that, I suggest reading this, if all you want is 2.2:
PCWorld chose Android as the #1 product of 2010
This is the major problem I have with Android phones. People love buying the shit out of them but so many companies just slap the android name on inferior products, or don't even ensure the product will have future compatibility with the OS.
Anyone else uses Waze to avoid traffic jams?
finally figured out a way to override the sprint hotspot 30 dollar bullshit and use easytether, that is awesome for travelling where i usually had to pay for wifi.
come onnnnn Cliq XT update
Apparently the Legend is getting 2.2 real soon. My fiancee is super excite for that.
I don't have the heart to tell her that I'll probably have 2.3 not long after
i'm really getting impatient with this gingerbread update, when will they announce the damn thing? maybe on black friday?
So Verizon peeps, what are your thoughts on the Samsung Fascinate vs the Droid 2? I may be switching over to Verizon soon and these are the two phones I'm eyeballing.
I like my Droid 2, but Best Buy has the Samsung for $1 the day after thanksgiving....
I rooted my phone
I got froyo and its sooooooooo nice
I'm going with the Droid X. That phone is a beast. All I need is my phone number to be brought over from T-Mobile and I'll be good to go.
So a day with Froyo and I love it. I could totally tell a difference in speed but there are some minor issues that I have with...I guess what type I downloaded. I guess it has to do with the themes? I don't know if I know what I'm talking about. If any of you know the talk of this whole android thingy can one of yall PM me pleaseeeeeee!
I certainly love mine.
It certainly is not an Android... but DO WANT! Mozilla Seabird 2D (just the concept)

Or watch it in 3D by (supposedly) crossing your eyes. I didn't know YouTube had this feature.

I bricked my phone trying to switch back to Eclair.
Actually, it would appear that it certainly is an Android.
nvm I got it fixed.
I had to reinstall the firmware back onto the phone but jesus fuck that was the most stressful thing ever.
i think it's just a concept video with android used for ideas, i'm guessing mozilla would come up with a competitor to google instead of using their system. great ideas as far as the projector is concerned though, i would buy that phone.
Eclairs are better than frozen yogurt, anyway.
Sooooooooooo my dad was talking to someone on the phone from tmobile and theyy said that the Vibrant will be getting gingerbread . I also read this somewhere. Not going to believe it till I see it!
nexus s is the first one to get it as far as i know, and that comes out next thursday.
Samsung have a history of saying "YES DEFINITELY" in one country while saying "OH MAYBE NOT ACTUALLY SURE YET" in others. I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet.
My HTC Desire however, will more than likely be getting it, and soon
I was supposed to be getting my shiny new HTC Desire on Monday and still no sign of it. Bunch of bloody clowns calling themselves a courier company
Are you getting a Desire or the new Desire HD?
Either way, the Desire is such a sexy beast
