I think Shogun is available for the same price on Steam, btw. The expansions are also discounted I think.

I'm debating buying the 40-game Genesis collection and the Dreamcast collection, but I don't like buying things I can't activate on Steam. I don't really have a reasonable argument as to why. I just don't for some reason.

I don't like to either. I guess because I like having everything on one account. The only PC games I buy now that aren't on Steam are pretty much either Blizzard or EA games.

Pretty much Steam, Desura, and GoG for me.

More people should use Desura, a lot of games out on it that dont exist anywhere else.

I had to download Desura to play a HL mod. It seems like Steam Jr.

Desura is pretty much all indie titles, alpha funding, and smaller projects that are either waiting to get on steam (many times games that are in bundles that get in after they get more "press") or are just overlooked. Steam is great but it doesn't get everything.

Project Zomboid (Survival isometric rpg...alpha but looking great)
    Hack, Slash, Loot (roguelike)
Cardinal Quest (roguelike... there are a lot of these lol)
    Wyv and Keep (puzzle platformer)
Bullet Candy & Irukandji (wave based shmups, not the best but good cheap fun for arcade junkies)
Super Crossfire (interesting take on space invaders type game)

Kenshi looks cool but I havent bought or tried it.

.... really though just look around it there are a lot of weird things on it and you are sure to find something interesting.
