this band has always sucked i fucking hate mark tremonti. i don't think he's ever written an original riff in his lifetime
I hear the opposite. The guitars sound meaner, and the overall sound is less radio friendly (although surely there will be a few standard radio rockers and ballads here, as always). But it's pointless to debate the 30 second clips, considering the album comes out in a week.
First impression: they really should leave their comfort zone at this point. Even the slightest deviations sound awesome, but I'm not crazy about them simply doing their Alter Bridge things anymore.
Whoa... Slip to the Void is pretty crazy good. I don't know the last time a release I was semi-interested in ended up surpassing my expectations this much. The songwriting is really pretty top notch so far (I'm halfway through the album)
Slip To The Void is great. Haven't heard the album enough to give an overall impression yet, but fucking hell is it compressed as fuck. Pisses me off.
I don't get the Blackbird hate. Anyway, I'll be checking this out. AB are certainly in the top-tier of mainstream metal
Isolation really gave me some raging hope for this. On my second listen through now, and it really is sounding boring.
so, i don't really get it. now that creed are active again... with one singer they're AB, and with the other they're creed?
The album is half generic, yes, but about half of it is actually pretty enjoyable. And this is coming from someone that deleted their other two albums after one listen each.
Yeah, this is pretty generic. The first half of One Day Remains remains the best thing they've done by far.
I feel very for this. I'm excited to hear it. If I can afford it I'll be seeing them in late October when they visit Denmark. Blackbird is one my favorite albums of all time.
Shit is disappointing. The first 2 tracks are great (with Slip To The Void becoming my 2nd fav AB song, after The End Is Here), but then it becomes pretty meh. I expected a lot more.
It's average, for the most part it sounds like it could be Blackbird B Sides, with a few decent songs. Nothing new in the mix apart from Tremonti's autotuned-to-shit vocals taking lead for a little bit.
This isn't bad, but I get the feeling it will be a chore to listen to in its entirety regularly. Slip to the Void, Ghost of Days Gone By, Show Me a Sign and Words Darker Than Their Wings are probably the best.
Any given one of those snippets sounds fine to me, but they all sound too similar to be lumped together like this.
w/e he still kicks ass in Alter Bridge Although I admit their fourth album will need a breath of fresh air
