these would all get my favor. And when I could I emphasized the "music" visually. Both to drive the gist home effectively, and because you'd want to establish name recognition early if this were to expand into the realm of a record label (FiveEight Music)

I like these. I think we should have a serious one so people will get the idea that they can talk about whatever type of music they want here, not just metal. I'm sure a new member would think we're pretty much a metal forum, but I've seen that nearly every genre in existence has at least one thread here.

I'm really liking Music as a Second Language, though it seems a bit long for a forum with a name as concise as Five/Eight. Fluent in Music? We All Speak Music? MSL?

I like the idea, I'm just playing around with it a little.

I like this. I think it should be something at least a little aggressive. If not this, I also really like "we know music". Stuff like that which is short, memorable, and confident will spread and be recognizable. Music as a second language and such is well-said but sort of wimpy.
