I was talking with this girl (girl A, no romantic link whatsoever) from a year below me in high school (goes to Georgetown now) and we were talking about our ideal qualities of a romantic partner (most Koreans have one of these). I said "cheerful, cute with good skin, good at humor, with open eyes and open ears and an open mind, still retaining some childish innocence while able to make up for my naïveté, likes to hang out quietly/passively in a room just chilling out, interested in the arts (especially music and games) and easygoing" (this whole thing sounds a LOT less idiotic in Korean, trust me) and she was like OH I think I met someone who was cheerful, cute with good skin, good at humor, still retaining some childish innocence, likes to hang out quietly/passively in a room just chilling out, interested in the arts (especially games) and easygoing, plus she's an art student so she probably has an open mind. (call this girl B) So I was like okay that's close enough lol haha cool cool. Three days later yesterday afternoon A told me B's skype nickname and I added her. I'm not super excited or expecting much though. I think I'd rather be happily surprised than disappointed. More updates to come.

also keep in mind that boy-girl theory and romance in general is probably pretty different in korea than in western cultures like the US or Europe
