Yeah you guys are right, the Dana Walsh story it stupid. Fortunately it doesn't take up too much airtime.

Yeah, it doesn't. I hope it's there for a reason though, and that it somehow pays off. Because right now it's just stupid. I can't think of how it will tie-in, though.

My favourite part of tonight's episode was Jack playing the German. Those glasses were classic.

Yeah, I think he should wear the glasses for the rest of the season.

I don't mind the Dana subplot because I think she has nice legs.

Episode was weak except for the knife scene.

I feel like this season is just a mirror image of all previous seasons. All these twists have been done so many times that it's pretty stale now. However I'm an invested fan and will finish out the season anyway in hopes that something will get me hooked. Right now I kind of just casually watch the show. I used to be on the edge of my seat at the end of every episode.

latest was entertaining to a degree, since it's just awesome to watch Jack fuck-shit-up his way out of sticky situations

last night's was downright abysmal. they are just concentrating on uninteresting stuff, and decisions/dialogue is not making sense, and needless drama is being churned-out. This show is officially over-the-hill. My friends and I are now going to watch the rest of this season for laughs.

One big laugh was when the mid east brother fag was calling CTU and said he was in Forest Hills, at some sort of boat warehouse. . We're all from Forest Hills, and were watching in Forest Hills, and there is nothing like a boat warehouse anywhere. It is a very nice neighborhood with some real estate ranging in the 2.5-5 million range. There's a boathouse by Meadow Lake in Flushing Meadow park (not Forest Hills) but that's as close as you'll get.

this show fell over the hill, forget strolling on over.

Part of me still wants to know the conclusion of the Jack Bauer arc. When I think about how much better sculpted this show used to be, it baffles me.

Yeah, and last season was pretty decent, so I had hopes that the new writing team would be a good thing. But the show seems a bit listless at this point. But I'll keep watching because I want to see how Jack ends up.

This definitely needs to be the final season.

looks like my decision not to watch this season has been justified, from the looks of this thread.

They've been hinting that Season 8 will be the final season anyway, to be followed by a movie that will finish things off for Jack Bauer (with the 24 hour period being encompassed within the 2-3 hours of movie time).

I'd be fine with them ending the show after this season. I'm really only watching because I've been watching since the beginning. I've invested too much time in the show to stop now.

Exactly. It's time to stop. Then a movie to finish off Jack's arc would be perfect.

Yeah it wasn't too bad; it was fast-paced, I love Stephen Root, and it certainly got exciting at the end.

Fuck that was awesome. The ending of that episode was the first time this series that I felt that same high level excitement that I felt up to season 5. My heart was racing and I loved it.

Spoiler:
It's an EMP!!

Badass.

Honestly, if you just watch the show later on a file.... Fast forward through every Dana Walsh part.... It makes the season overall really fucking awesome.

I'm going to continue this policy throughout the rest of season 8.

wow, the most recent ep was actually pretty fuckin good (totally agreed about Mr. Root). Some smart schemage, well directed, riveting conclusion, and the Dana Walsh parts actually (can't believe I'm saying this) opened up her character and allowed her to feel genuine for teh first time this season. Like she was saying "I was a fucking moron earlier for even getting involved with this asshole and I need to pay the price". On the other hand it might have just been Stephen Root's killer acting that elevated her. Either way Dana is probably off the hook now. Sucks that IMDB only lists Root as being in one episode though. Hey wait, he's already been in two of em. Well whatever I hope we see more

bravo 24, bravo let's see if you can keep this up (still don't like that these morons think that a dirty bomb detonation is going to benefit their country in the long run) File 33 would've been a much better tool to leverage in some initially non-violent ways.

Is this entire season already filmed or do we all risk a production shut down if they officially pull the plug?

Even if it was canceled, they'd let the season finish out for sure.

I thought this most recent episode was the best one in quite some time. The others have had moments, but this one was pretty badass.

I've gotta say though, the Dana storyline sucks. Who the fuck does the probation officer think he is, Columbo or something? His Jr. Detective bit was annoying. The writers should have given her some balls to say, "Listen motherfucker, we're in the middle of ANOTHER nuclear crisis, and no one except you gives a shit about that fucking redneck, so get the fuck out of here, or I'll call security and have them place you in holding." Of course, she wouldn't have uttered all of those expletives, so perhaps that's the reason the show's writers didn't go in that direction. Either way, I hope that EMP gets her off the hook so we can move away from that dumbass storyline. Its almost as bad as the Cougar epsiodes, sans white tank top.

Last week was pretty good. This week, well...not bad, until the lame shit at the end. At this point, that character doesn't make any sense at all.

god, way to follow-up a pretty good ep with total garbage. How long was that fucking standoff at the east river? And yeah, the Dana character is just so fucking over the hill. bah
